Red Velvet's Wendy is working hard on her rehabilitation to speed up her return to the stage and to reunite with her co-members.
According to a report by All Kpop, Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi, recently, confirmed that Wendy is, currently, undergoing rehabilitation for injuries she sustained from a stage accident last December, and she is also doing well with vocal exercises.
It can be recalled that, during the rehearsals for SBS' Gayo Daejun last December 25, Wendy fell from a stage tunnel that was two meters high as she was practicing for her solo performance. She sustained injuries to her cheekbone, wrist, and pelvis from the accident.
The severe injuries required Wendy to be hospitalized for several months to recover from her injuries. She was, reportedly, discharged from the hospital in February to receive outpatient treatment. She has been attending rehabilitation since, Koreaboo reported.
In an interview, Seulgi revealed that Wendy frequently visits the practice room to practice singing. Seulgi, also, revealed that Wendy regularly maintains contact with all the members.
She added that, when she and Irene debuted their subunit Red Velvet Irene and Seulgi, Wendy was the first to contact them to congratulate them and cheer them on.
According to Irene, she and Seulgi will continue promoting their activities for their subunit in the meantime but Red Velvet will reunite as a five group team with Wendy, Joy, and Yeri afterward.
Red Velvet Irene and Seulgi, recently, released their follow up track to MONSTER entitled Naughty, which has been viewed by over two million fans on YouTube since it was released on July 20.
Meanwhile, while SM Entertainment maps out plans for Red Velvet's next major comeback, Irene will, reportedly, be busy in making her big-screen debut through the youth drama film Double Patty.
It was, recently, confirmed by SM Entertainment that Irene will star as a student who dreams of becoming an anchorwoman in the new movie. This will be Irene's first foray into acting after she debuted in the web series Game Development Girls in 2016 where she was praised for her adaptability to the set and her natural portrayal of her role.
Double Patty is expected to begin filming sometime this August with a target release of late 2020. The film will be directed by Baek Seung Hwan.
