Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living in Los Angeles with their son Archie after they officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex packed their bags and moved to the US to make a fresh start.

However, a new report revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would never be able to entirely cut ties from the Royal Family despite their exit. Royal expert Victoria Murphy noted that one of the main reasons why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can not break away from the Royal clan is because the prince is royal by blood.

"In their new endeavors, Harry and Meghan won’t be branding themselves as royal, but it is impossible to erase the ties that, in Harry’s case, are lifelong. They retain some royal patronages, have a huge profile that exists because of the Royal Family, and most significantly, the royal family is their family,” she said.

Prince Harry is still involved with organizations, such as the Invictus Games and the OnSide Youth Zones despite his royal exit. The Duke of Sussex was a patron when he was still a working royal.

But Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking on causes, such as racial equality and social justice, which are subjects that they would not tackle before their royal exit. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex joined the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit, which is an UN-backed female empowerment meeting.

Royal rota host Chris Ship tried to interpret one segment of Meghan Markle’s speech, wondering if the Duchess of Sussex was not able to chase convictions with actions while she was still in the Royal Family. He then questioned if this was the reason why she wanted to leave the clan.

Sky News' royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills noted that Meghan Markle already talked about the topics that she addressed in the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit before. However, she pointed out that the difference is that this is the first time that the Duchess of Sussex talked about this since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals.

Rhiannon Mills added that she had been listening to Meghan Markle’s speech in the past where she did not hold back. The royal correspondent shared that the Duchess of Sussex was “more punchy” in her recent speech.
