Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversial biography, Finding Freedom, revealed the alleged reason why the Duke of Sussex got mad with Prince William. Allegedly, the book claimed the Duke of Cambridge called his brother's then-girlfriend "this girl," which enraged Harry.
The book's new extract revealed some details of the alleged conversation between the two royal brothers. Kate Middleton's husband, reportedly, advised his younger brother not to feel he needed to rush things.
He, allegedly, told Prince Harry to take as much time as he could to know "this girl," referring to Meghan. The extracts, which quoted by The Sunday Times and noted by Sky News, revealed how the father-of-one heard a "tone of snobbishness" from Prince William that he found the words "this girl" offensive.
Talking about Meghan's relationship with the Duchess of Cambridge, the authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed they never really spent much time together before the Sussexes' marriage. They said they did not even develop a close bond after the Royal wedding.
However, although there were some "awkward moments" between the two duchesses, the writers revealed they never really had a fallout. They were never the best of friends, but they were not also at war with each other either.
According to Daily Mail, Prince William and Kate's friends hit back in the claims that the Cambridges "actively spurned" the Duchess of Sussex. Although Scobie and Durand asserted the two women did not have a fallout, they claimed their relation became bitter that the future Queen consort "snubbed" her sister-in-law at the Sussexes' last appearance as senior Royals.
To defend the future King and Queen, their close pals insisted Prince William and Kate "rolled out the red carpet" for Meghan. They, too, did everything they possibly could to welcome the former actress into the Royal Family.
They said Prince William and Kate "welcomed Meghan with open arms." They invited her to Anmer Hall and Kate even cooked vegan meals for Prince Harry's then-fiancé.
Prince William and Kate, also, invited the former Suits star's friends, bridesmaids, and page boys to a party before her 2018 Royal wedding. Kate even asked Meghan to join her in the Royal Box at Wimbledon for two consecutive years.
Prince William and Kate's close friends found it "completely wrong" to say that they were not welcoming. They stressed that the assumption was never real as they even hosted Meghan for Christmas.
