The Alienist season 2 episode 5 is coming this week on TNT, with the title "Belly of the Beast." Things are going to be even more intense for Sara and the team as they continue investigating horrible murders. Some problems are set to unfold and some lives are in jeopardy, as well.
In The Alienist season 2 episode 5, one of the employees of a Lying-In Hospital has been murdered. So, the team uses all the available resources to track down the murderer. Sara, also, asks Joanna's help to tail their primary suspect.
While Sara, Kreizler, and Moore try to figure out the puzzle, the killer finds a way to Sara's office. The suspect could potentially hurt them, so they must find a way to track him down before it's too late. The story will, then, continue in episode 6, which will air shortly after The Alienist season 2 episode 5.
Titled "Memento Mori," the episode sees Sara and Moore going back to the abandoned house of the killer to search for new information about their suspect. Sara and the team are also enlisted to locate and rescue yet another missing child.
However, things go out of hand when they were teamed up with their former adversary, ex-commissioner Thomas Byrnes. Kreizler, on the other hand, must deal with the consequences after a tragic incident at the Institute.
In the previous episodes, Sara and the team deal with the disappearance of two infants and tried to find the potential serial killer. One of the infants is Martha Napp's baby, who was kidnapped from the Lying-In Hospital. Later on, the kid was found dead at a departmental store toy display.
The second child is Linares' daughter, Ana. She was kidnapped from her home and was discovered in the same store. After getting some leads, the team learned that the person responsible for the murders was from the Lying-In Hospital.
Sara investigates the maternity ward and enlists the help of nurse Libby, who offers vital information. Libby was able to locate Napp's file and revealed Matron's lies. The nurse also explained that Markoe and Byrnes are plotting something to stop Sara from digging further information.
But, it turns out that Libby actually has sinister motives. The team heads to her location to catch her, but the nurse managed to escape and went toward the Matron's premises. This story will continue in this week's episodes, and more secrets and mysteries are going to unfold.
The Alienist season 2 episode 5 airs on Sunday, Aug. 2, at 9 PM Eastern Time on TNT, and followed by episode 6 at 10 PM.
