Princess Anne's husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, revealed his one unexpected and shocking realization about the royal family. After attending many events at the Queen's estates in Windsor, Balmoral and Sandringham, he said that there's always "full of laughter" among the royals.

Laurence has been married to Princess Anne for nearly 30 years, although they do not have kids together. He is her second husband after her first marriage to Mark Phillips ended in divorce in the 1990s. Laurence agreed to a rare interview for a documentary featuring his wife, who is celebrating her 70th birthday in August.

Princess Anne's husband also said that the Princess Royal and Queen Elizabeth have the same sense of humor. The naval chief said that his wife is often compared to her father, Prince Philip, because of their no-nonsense mindset, but Princess Anne apparently takes after her mother when it comes to having fun.

Royal journalists agree that Princess Anne is quite a humorous person. Christine Lampard and Roya Nikkhah said that if you ask people who work with the Princess Royal, they will say the same thing about how funny she can be

Princess Anne looks serious during her royal engagements but Nikkhah believes it's just a facade because she's a warm person to engage with. Her staff revealed that she doesn't reprimand them when they make mistakes, but Princess Anne does give them stern looks and that's apparently enough to let them know they have to do better.

Meanwhile, Laurence also shared the things he has in common with his wife. He said that they are both "map and chart people" who like to know where they are going. They also enjoy watching rugby and rooting for the Scottish team.

Laurence also noted how much Princess Anne seems to have a thing for men in authority since her first husband was also in the military service. But the one thing Laurence could never get into, which his wife loves since childhood, is horses. Princess Anne's husband said that he has never been bitten by the bug.

Princess Anne's children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, said that they love how Laurence is the strong support system for their mother. They apparently have a deep understanding for the royal family and what is required of them as the Queen's daughter and son-in-law.

Anne: The Princess Royal at 70 aired on ITV on July 29 in Britain. Filmmakers followed Princess Anne for a full year to document her life and her work for her milestone birthday.
