K-pop ships are created by fans who feel that something more than friendship is going on between two members. Most of these ships are nothing serious and are just for fun, as fans are just playfully pointing out the idols’ tight relationship with each other.

One of the ships in BTS is called SOPE, which consists of Suga and J-Hope. What made this ship different from the rest is the fact that Suga himself was the one who created it instead of the fans. ARMYs didn’t seem to consider this ship before as Suga and J-Hope are the exact opposite of each other.

Suga is dubbed by ARMYs as “Grandpa” because he seems to have an old soul despite being in his 20s. He’s also someone who’d rather stay put and do nothing and would choose sleep over anything else.

J-Hope, on the other hand, was given the nickname “Sunshine” by the fandom for his bright and bubbly personality. He’s very active and enjoys having fun with his members.

But since Suga created SOPE, ARMYs were glad to follow his lead. Eventually, fans realized that the duo has a great connection and shipping them feels very natural.

ARMYs, then, started to notice little details between Suga and J-Hope, and they would share their cute moments on social media. Of course, these are just harmless shipping compilations. But, on August 5, Suga gave their fans something to talk about.

One ARMY took to Weverse to post some short clips of J-Hope losing his shoe during BTS performances and activities. The fan, then, called the BTS rapper “Cinderella.”

Suga is not very active on Weverse. But, when he goes online on the social media platform, he would mostly leave a comment on photos and videos of himself. This time, however, the “Daechwita” rapper couldn’t contain himself after seeing the post about J-Hope being Cinderella. “I have to go by 12 o’clock,” he commented.

As expected, ARMYs went crazy after reading Suga’s comment to the post. “Did Yoongi just announce to the world that he’s Hoseok’s Prince Charming??? SOPE really is real??? I thought we were joking!” one wrote. “Of course, we weren’t. SOPE soulmates!” a fan responded.

Although SOPE is not the most popular ship in the K-pop world, or even in BTS, Suga and J-Hope have proven many times that they are ship goals. Suga even said he would put J-Hope's photo on his wallet.
