As for what Gianniotti thinks about Meredith and DeLuca's long-term compatibility, he said that the two are "great compatibility." The actor noted that they complement each other and fill each other's gap. They're like yin and yang; their different experiences are the things that complete each other.
Aside from his romantic story, DeLuca is facing more challenges in his mental state. Gianniotti said that this storyline will further be explored in Grey's Anatomy season 17. This could be a huge part of his story, considering how the previous installment ended.
