Queen Elizabeth is apparently secure in the thought that Prince William and Kate Middleton will one day rule England with success. Because of this, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are getting more responsibilities in the royal family.

A source told Us Weekly that Queen Elizabeth likes how much there is no drama or scandal around Prince William and Kate. The monarch also reportedly adores the Duchess of Cambridge and thinks that she and Prince William are perfectly matched in their roles as future King and Queen of England.

The insider also suggested that Prince William and Kate are getting more responsibilities from the Queen than Prince Charles, the heir to the throne. They've apparently started liaising and becoming more directly involved with the government.

Unlike the Prince of Wales, the Cambridges have no drastic plans to change the monarchy. Prince William and Kate want to be more relatable to the public while sticking with centuries-old royal traditions. Yet they likely will push for a more relaxed protocol in some aspects of their royal life and still continue with her advocaises like mental healh and early childhoood delopment.

This news comes amid reports that Queen Elizabeth is considering stepping back from her royal duties so she can spend more time with Prince Philip. A source told Closer Weekly that the Duke of Edinburgh is greatly aware that his days are numbered. Meanwhile his beloved wife cannot also return to her royal duties completely because of the pandemic.

Rumors that the Queen will retire have been rife since last year allegedly because the scandals and controversy among royal family members, especially Prince Andrew. These scandals are apparently putting a strain on Her Majesty that others believe it's time for the heir to take over and handle her duties.

Reports also cited that the Queen plans to retire when she turns 95 in 2021 but a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace said in December 2019 that no talks have taken place. The spokesperson also said that the Queen swore an oath to herself that she will remain steadfast in her duty until her death. The aide said that Queen Elizabeth will not quit, retire or abdicate.

However, some royal observers think that the Queen is reconsidering her choices because the pandemic changed everything for many, including the royal family. The monarch can't go back to her public duties if her health and safety are constantly under threat as a vulnerable 94-year-old.
