Better Call Saul season 6 hasn't started production yet and there's no official update as to when filming could begin. Cast and crew won't be able to start working in the immediate future due to the current health crisis. Certain health guidelines should be implemented first before getting everyone back on set.

When Better Call Saul season 6 begins filming, one of the things that needed to be considered is how production will work amid the pandemic. Speaking in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Peter Gould has something to say about this subject.

Gould said that this is a deep and complex question, and a lot of this has to do with their work. He revealed that Sony is working very hard to find ways to shoot not only the Bob Odenkirk-led series but for the safety of all their shows.

The executive producer further noted that Sony is doing its best to go the distance to make everything safe as humanly possible. There are certain decisions they have to take consideration, and it takes a lot of time, effort, and thought before filming kicks off.

Gould is hoping that Better Call Saul season 6 could start production before too long. Yet, due to the current health crisis, some things remain uncertain. But, if ever the situation goes back to normal or gets a little bit better, filming could start anytime soon leading to a 2021 release date schedule.

In the same interview, the executive producer, also, teased they're breaking episode six via Zoom at the moment, and they have plenty of big ideas where it is heading. He added that no one on the television has, probably, done this before and they're in a "slightly unexplored territory."

Meanwhile, Better Call Saul season 6 serves as the series finale and a lot of questions should be addressed here. For instance, there's a huge mystery whether Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takocvic will have a happy ending or not.

The main question here is what would be a deserving ending for Jimmy, given that he's done a lot of mistakes in the past. While death seems to be a fitting end for him, the series won't likely leave him in this situation. Perhaps, he could find a way to eventually redeem himself.

But, aside from Jimmy's storyline, Better Call Saul season 6 needs to address Kim Wexler's (Rhea Seehorn) storyline, as well. Until now, there's a mystery where she ends up in the future. The final season could answer the questions surrounding her and why she's not present in the Breaking Bad timeline.
