Royal fans are, reportedly, not pleased that Meghan Markle is talking politics with Michelle Obama. Some are urging the Duchess of Sussex to stop using her title if she's taking part in these political activities online.

Meghan is in the Virtual Voter Registration #CouchParty panel organized by When We All Vote and Glamour magazine. When We All Vote's co-chairperson is the former U.S. First Lady and their aim is to get people to exercise their civil rights in the upcoming November presidential elections.

According to Daily Express, some royal fans are upset that Meghan was introduced as the Duchess of Sussex at the event. They noted that none of the royal family members talk politics because they have to be neutral on issues.

There is no rule that prohibits the royals from being political but Queen Elizabeth has never shown her political colors in her nearly 70 years of reign. However, the expectations might be different for the Sussex pair since they've stepped back from their royal roles and are no longer official representatives of the Queen.

But, some netizens on Twitter said that Meghan, despite being American, should not be voting because of her royal title. Some royal fans also question why she's still clinging to her royal name if she wants to cast her vote.

Another netizen said it's good for Meghan to use her voice to encourage other people to exercise their right since royal titles do not mean anything in the U.S. Another Twitter user shot back at the people complaining online and said that they didn't care about British royalty before and it shouldn't be important today.

The Duchess of Sussex was also featured in a Marie Claire magazine explaining why she's going to be at the polling station in November. The wife of Prince Harry said that she's using her voice and her fundamental right so she is going to elect a president.

Meghan, however, didn't say who she's voting for but the Duchess of Sussex is aligned with the Democrats. In 2016, she supported Hillary Clinton's bid for the presidency and denounced Donald Trump as "divisive" and "misogynistic."

Democratic candidate Joe Biden's vice-presidential running mate Kamala Harris is reportedly a big fan of the Duchess of Sussex. In October 2019, Harris shared a video of Meghan Markle when she expressed that she's struggling with the negative press while pregnant with her first child. The VP aspirant also reshared the video of Meghan as she addressed the death of George Floyd.
