As part of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoy a privileged life but the biography, Finding Freedom, revealed that the couple, apparently, got $4.5 million in handouts since their relationship started.
According to Daily Mail, buried in the pages of the book are some of the details to the freebies that Prince Harry and Meghan got from their friends and brands. The perks started when they were still dating in 2016.
Harry and Meghan once enjoyed a weekend getaway at the Cotswolds Soho Farmhouse in Somerset in the early months of their relationship. They didn't pay the $6,100.00 bill since the owner, Markus Anderson, is friends with the Duchess of Sussex. Apparently, Anderson was only too happy to oblige and even made the arrangements for the romantic weekend.
Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney helped her secure a private jet. This made her trips from Toronto, where she worked on the set of Suits, to London, so under the radar that the press didn't get wind of their romance until many months later. The cost of the private jet is around $65,000 but Mulroney apparently took care of it.
Diptique, a popular high-end candle company, provided the scented diffusers for Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018 for free. A significant number of these diffusers, which cost $170 each, were placed all around St. George's Chapel to mask the "musty smell" that Meghan didn't like.
Close pals Serena Williams and Amal Clooney absorbed the cost of Meghan's star-studded baby shower in New York for $400,000. The pers doesn't end there as the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex could, apparently, also, borrow the private planes of their rich friends, like Clooneys and Elton John, on top of Mulroney's access.
It is believed that the Prince Harry and Meghan also didn't pay any rent money for staying at Tyler Perry's mansion in Beverly Hills. Sources close to the Sussex pair, however, said that they are endlessly grateful to Perry for providing them with a safe haven.
Harry and Meghan arrived in Los Angeles at the start of pandemic lockdown, when no one had any clue about how bad the coronavirus situation in the U.S. would get. The couple has moved out of Perry's home since July and are now staying at an upscale Montecito home, which they bought with their own income.
According to reports, Prince Harry prefers the quiet and peace in Montecito than the hustle and bustle in Los Angeles. They also live in a secluded property, which won't likely be breached by the paparazzi compared to their stay in Los Angeles.
