Dancing with the Stars season 29 is expected to arrive next month on ABC. But, until now, there are only a few details as to who could officially join the reality ballroom competition. Just recently, it has been teased that Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean is one of the contestants in the new installment.
In a previous report from Entertainment Tonight, sources claim McLean is set to appear in Dancing with the Stars season 29. The speculation further fuelled after the Backstreet Boys singer seemingly hinted the "big news" on his Instagram account.
McLean showed his fans that he's been working out for the past several months and he's preparing for "what's to come in the next few weeks." He further teased that a lot of surprises are coming for him and he can't tell exactly what is it yet.
If ever confirmed, McLean joins his bandmate Nick Carter, who took part in season 21. As for who else is joining Dancing with the Stars season 29, nothing is confirmed at the moment aside from former The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe.
But prior to the announcement, rumors suggest some of the celebrities joining the competition. According to a report from E! News, Anne Heche, Chrishell Stause, Carole Baskin are all in talks to compete for the mirrorball in the new installment.
Other sources claim coronavirus expert Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked to join Dancing with the Stars season 29. But, reportedly, he declined to participate in the competition. For now, nothing is confirmed as to who's joining or not. The full star lineup will be revealed on Sep. 2 on Good Morning America.
The good news is that the official release date has been revealed, along with other details. The lineup for pros in the new installment includes Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, Peta Murgatroyd, Keo Motsepe, Jenna Johnson, Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy, Cheryl Burke, and Brandon Armstrong.
Sharna Burgess, Daniella Karagach, and Britt Stewart are all returning in the new season, as well. The two latter have been part of the show's troupe. Karagach and Stewart fill the void left by Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson, who are both pregnant at the moment.
Meanwhile, this is the first season without co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews. The two departed from the show due to certain reasons. They were replaced by Tyra Banks, who also serves as the new executive producer of the show.
Dancing with the Stars season 29 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 PM ET/PT, on ABC.
