Plastic surgeons chose Red Velvet Irene's classic beauty over BLACKPINK Jennie's trendy charm.
According to a report by Koreaboo, Doctor Friends, a YouTube channel for plastic surgeons, recently, did a feature comparing the beauty of the two idols.
Plastic surgeons Dr. Kim Gui Rak and Dr. Kim Tae Gyu weighed in based on their professional perspective.
The surgeons first analyzed Jennie and Irene's face and eyes. According to facial expert Kim Tae Gyu, one particularly striking feature about Jennie's face was her chubby cheeks. This gave her face a youthful vibe. This was complemented by her thin neck, which went well with her slender figure.
Dr. Kim said that in contrast, Irene had a more classic look. She had a small face which made her big eyes stand out. The surgeon pointed out that, even though Irene had a thicker neck than Jennie, most people did not notice because they were drawn by her eyes.
In the video, the doctors compared Jennie and Irene's noses in proportion to their faces. Dr. Kim Gui Rak said that Irene had a perfect nose proportion based on its straightness, shape, height, and angle. Jennie's nose was slightly lower and shorter than Irene's but it worked well with her trendy appeal.
Based on the criteria, the two doctors chose Irene as the prettier idol because of the classic proportions of her face. They emphasized that her eyes were the central part of her appeal. They said that Jennie also had a beauty that stood out. But, from a surgeon's perspective, Irene had the advantage.
Even though the two female idols are compared constantly, they are very good friends. Their friendship even had the ship name JenRene coined by BLINKs and Reveluvs.
According to Koreaboo, whether Jennie and Irene are in Korea or out of the country, they always found time to meet and catch up with each other.
One of their most famous interactions was caught by a fan as the two idols both tried to pay for a bill in a cafe in LA.
It is not uncommon for Jennie and Irene to send gifts to each other and make subtle shoutouts during their performances.
Irene did Jennie's signature finger-pointing move during a performance of "RBB," while Jennie did "RBB's" key move for her performance of "SOLO."
These two women have, also, been caught hugging each other on stage when they appear on music shows at the same time.
