Melania Trump has always worn eye-catching pieces in public appearances and engagements. While many of her fashion choices have received praise and recognition from experts, her recent lime green dress at the Republican National Convention did not. Instead, the First Lady's dress sparked mockery from netizens as many used it as a "green screen" for photoshopping, according to the Daily Express.

Several videos of the U.S. President's wife featuring edited versions of her dress went viral on various social media platforms, especially on Twitter. The most apparent one is the clips that replaced her dress with the data, showing the numbers of coronavirus deaths in the United States.

Aside from the "memes" and edited clips, netizens, also, discussed Melania Trump's possible thoughts when she selected her lime green dress for the important event. Some individuals said that they could not think what the First Lady was thinking about her dress. But, overall, netizens agreed that the dress looks like a "green screen."

Reports said that broadcaster Jeremy Vine re-tweeted one of the edited videos. He, reportedly, captioned it with "because of a green dress."

Meanwhile, The New York Times' account on the platform posted a piece of advice for their followers. The user said never to "wear lime green" pieces, adding that photographers give this advice to people who do not want to be photoshopped.

Despite all the jokes and mockeries, there are still a few netizens who continued to praise Melania Trump. Some stated that they "like" how the First Lady chooses to wear "unique" outfits. Others claimed that the model "stands out" with the help of her lime green dress.

There are, also, some Twitter users who described the outfits as "bold" and "powerful." As for others, they deem the dress as an image of "women empowerment."

The Indian Express, later on, released a screenshot of all the viral memes of the First Lady. Some of the edited clips include a campaign banner for Biden, a face of Barack Obama, a photo of the coronavirus, and other kinds of things that netizens find funny.

The publication said that several Twitter users "joined the bandwagon." As seen on the screenshots, even accounts of Hollywood editors and late night shows, also, participated and threw their own versions of Melania Trump's lime green dress. In the end, hashtags, "Melania Green Screen" and "Green Screen Dress," reportedly, dominated trends on the platform.
