Jungkook just turned 23 years (24 in Korea) on September 1, and ARMYs did everything in their power to make him happy on his birthday. Despite getting the best present on his special day, the “My Time” singer admitted that he cried because of what the fans did.

But Jungkook’s tears were definitely not out of sadness, they were tears of joy. On the first day of September, it was announced that BTS hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a wish that the BTS singer was hoping for in 2018.

Thanks to ARMYs undying support, BTS’ latest disco-inspired summer bop “Dynamite” sold a mind-blowing 265,000 digital copies in its first week, making it their first song to debut at No.1 on Billboard‘s “Hot 100” chart.

Jimin said, in their previous live broadcast, that they made “Dynamite” simply to comfort their fans during the coronavirus pandemic, and they were not aiming for anything else other than that. ARMYs, on the other hand, had plans of their own, and that is to break records.

After learning the result, BTS was overwhelmed with happiness. Even the calm and collected Suga couldn’t help but post a lot of crying symbols on social media. J-Hope and Jimin, also, shared that they couldn’t stop crying while V was in utter disbelief.

RM and Jin noted that their Billboard win was a great present to Jungkook. Hours later, BTS held a live broadcast to not only celebrate the Golden Maknae’s birthday but to thank ARMYs for their historic win.

“It’s the best birthday gift ever. Also, it’s all thanks to ARMY. They gave me great support. I realized that they’re doing so many things for my birthday," Jungkook said.

RM, then, revealed that Jungkook lost his voice from crying. The BTS singer was so touched with ARMYs’ gift that he got really emotional. “I cried so much,” JK admitted.

In fact, RM was the only one who didn’t cry after the announcement of their win. The BTS leader said that he felt left out when Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook had the waterworks going full force.

Despite their superstardom status, BTS has remained humble and grateful. With the way their careers are going at the moment, the boys would have already expected the win — but the didn’t. This is the reason why their emotions are always genuine because they never felt that they are above other artists. So, every time they win, it's a remarkable honor for them.
