The end of Keeping Up with the Kardashians says a lot about the traditional cable TV and the famous family today. After 20 seasons, 14 years, and numerous episodes, it will be an end of an era that is said to be a "a long time coming" for the KarJenners.

It can't be denied that the ladies from the family are all famous today. Hence, a source told Us Weekly that they believe they can maintain their fame without the reality series and make all the money they want through online.

The insider revealed they are now done with the "long hours" of filming and keep their lives' details private this time. From Kris Jenner to her daughters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, they all want "a break" from showing their lives to the public.

Aside from being a celebrity, the KarJenners are business people, too. So, they have the means to make more money by doing other things elsewhere without the hassle of doing a reality TV.

For now, all they want is a break to think about the options they have, including a possible spinoff involving KUWTK executive producer Ryan Seacrest. Despite the show's ending, the KarJenners remain loyal and grateful to Seacrest and the E! network.

For 14 years, the family has incredibly surpassed everyone's expectations from them. They manage to outgrow the show and take it as far as they can. The source continued that "they're seeing through what's expected of them."

Aside from being total professionals, they, too, show they are practical. As they bid goodbye to the show that makes them famous, bringing them to where they all are today, they are now looking at "many alternatives."

They may venture into the world of streaming that may have the same format as KUWTK. Although they still have a year before the show ends, they are now weighing on the many possibilities.

However, according to Yahoo!, the end of KUWTK says more about the traditional cable TV than the KarJenners' relevancy. When E! dropped the show in 2007, it was a "poignant time in peak TV history."

Back then, cable TV used to be the most sought-after form of at-home entertainment until streaming services came. Viewers now have more options of what to watch and where to watch it.

Social media, including the many challenges one can see on TikTok, also emerged, mostly dominated by the KarJenners, too. So far, each family member has amassed about 100 million followers on Instagram alone, giving fans real-time updates about their lives without waiting week after week to see it on TV.
