Kim Yoo Jung will move to Awesome ENT after the expiration of her contract with Sidus HQ. The young actress will join top artists like Park Seo Joon, Lee Hyun Woo, Han Ji Hye, Kim Do Hwan, and many others in her new home.
According to a report by Soompi, Kim Yoo Jung's decision confirmed earlier reports that she was in talks with Awesome ENT leading up to the expiration of her exclusive contract with Sidus HQ.
In a statement from Awesome ENT, CEO Yang Geun Hwan expressed excitement to be chosen by the actress as her next agency. He said that Kim Yoo Jung is a representative actress whose talent enables her to express diverse emotions. He said he hopes that the agency will be able to help the actress shine even brighter with more activities in and out of Korea.
Kim Yoo Jung was a long time artist of Sidus HQ. She was signed to the company since her younger years as a child star. She starred in many successful dramas, including Dong Yi and The Moon Embracing the Sun as a child actor.
As a leading lady, she appeared with Park Bo Gum in 2016's Love in the Moonlight, and teamed up with Yoon Kyung Sang for the romantic comedy Clean with Passion for Now.
Her most recent hit was a webcomic adaptation Backstreet Rookie where she played a former high school bully who falls for a struggling convenience store owner, played by Ji Chang Wook. The drama's finale achieved the show's highest viewer rating at 6.3 and 9.5 percent for the last two episodes.
According to Awesome ENT, Kim Yoo Jung is currently taking a brief rest and going over several offers for her next project.
Early this year, another longtime artist of Sidus HQ left the agency. It was reported that Kim Woo Bin parted ways with the agency in February after his contract expired.
Kim Woo Bin was with the agency for eight years before he opted to move to AM Entertainment to join his girlfriend, Shin Min Ah. In their statement, the agency wished their former artist good health and thriving career after he recovered from a two year battle with nasopharyngeal cancer, Koreaboo reported.
Kim Woo Bin is, currently, working on a comeback film entitled Alien, where he is expected to greet his fans after a long period in hiatus. The film is slated for a 2020 release.
