Speculation is increasingly becoming widespread that Meghan Markle will run for president of the United States one day and Prince Harry will become America's First Gentleman. However, the pair needs to give up their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to make this plan possible.

A source disclosed to Vanity Fair that Meghan refused to become a British citizen when she married Prince Harry in 2018 because she had plans to run for office in America. The friend said that Meghan would seriously consider this plan again for 2024 if they drop titles.

The Sussex pair sparked even more speculations of their plan for the White House after their recent appearance on TV to urge America to vote in the November 2020 U.S. presidential elections. But royal experts also believe they should stop using their titles if they have a political agenda.

Biographer Robert Jobson said that Harry must also think about withdrawing himself and his son, Archie Harrison, in the line of succession. The Duke of Sussex and his 16-month-old baby are currently the sixth and seventh in line to the British throne.

After their televised comment about voting, a survey showed that 68 percent of the British people want Harry and Meghan to be stripped off their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles. Before they left the royal family, Queen Elizabeth stripped them off their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) distinction.

The poll from Tatler asked 4,174 British locals. Majority or 63 percent apparently said that it made them feel uncomfortable to watch Prince Harry's wife make comments about the U.S. presidential elections.

Meghan didn't endorse any candidate or political party. However, her political leanings are with the Democrats, whose candidate is former vice president Joe Biden.

Even President Donald Trump said that he was not a fan of Meghan after that TV appearance. Trump also wished Prince Harry some luck because he felt the royal might need it.

Buckingham Palace didn't want to comment on Harry and Meghan's latest actions since they are no longer working members of the royal family. An insider said that the Sussexes went on TV and talked about voting as their personal convictions.

This early, pundits are already pitting Meghan with Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter who is allegedly being groomed to run for the highest post in the U.S. Meghan used to gush over Ivanka and wrote praises to her on her former blog The Tig. Their friendship became strained during the 2016 presidential campaign.
