BlLACKPINK drove fans into a frenzy when it was announced that they will be releasing a full album. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are set to launch THE ALBUM on Oct. 2, 2020.

As expected, BLINKs were excited to hear BLACKPINK’s THE ALBUM, especially after the hit of their latest bop “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez. However, when the tracklist was dropped, some fans were not too happy with it.

BLACKPINK’s THE ALBUM has eight songs, with only six new ones. BLINKs have waited a long time to finally get an album packed full of songs, but it only has less than 10 tracks. "Man, I'm excited but the tracklist is so short. I thought full albums should have more than 10 songs,” one wrote.

While some BLINKs are disappointed with how few the songs are in BLACKPINK THE ALBUM, others were still very excited, especially with their collaborations with two popular American artists.

BLACKPINK took over the K-pop world by storm during their debut back in 2016, and the girls haven’t lost their touch as their comebacks have always been a huge success. The YG Entertainment girl group’s popularity didn’t only stop in South Korea or Asia, but they have won the attention of K-pop and music lovers in the States.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are so in demand that they have expanded their tour to the U.S. and even got the opportunity to perform at Coachella last year. This confirms that BLACKPINK is one of the most popular and successful K-pop artists to date. Before their American debut, YG Entertainment already hinted at the possibility in 2018.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment has faced a lot of troubles in recent years. A couple of the agency's artists were linked to controversies, which even led to BIGBANG's Seungri to leave the group, the company, and the industry. Even though the singer denied most of the allegations, he chose to retire and face the charges on his own.

Many are hoping that BLACKPINK's success would bring YG Entertainment back to the top spot again. BIGBANG is also set for a comeback in December, which could help boost the agency's ranking.

G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and former member Seungri are called the Kings of K-Pop. Even though the boys have not been active in the industry after completing their military service, their names still keep on trending on social media.
