BTS is known all around the world, and the members’ names are on everyone’s lips. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have been to places they could only imagine before, and have met a lot of fans and celebrities throughout their journey.

That said, it’s quite hard to believe that Jungkook is someone who’s on the shy side. Being an idol, the BTS star is expected to entertain the audience, and he always succeeds in that. What people didn’t know is that it was pure professionalism that made JK look comfortable in front of many people.

In Jungkook’s “My Biography” interview for Volume 8 of Japan’s FC magazine, he shared that he was not always shy. In fact, the BTS star even called himself a “mischievous boy” who enjoys the outdoors instead of being stuck inside the classroom.

Jungkook also revealed that he would show off his talent at school, and even sang 2AM’s “This Song” during a field trip. He even tried out for a b-boy competition even though he was aware his skills were not that good.

It didn’t take long for Jungkook to start auditioning. The young JK didn’t pressure himself so much at the time and took the whole thing as a learning experience. However, when he arrived for his audition, he was overwhelmed by how many people were there in the hall.

Jungkook admitted that he got intimidated by the crowd and started to “shrink after being surrounded by so many strangers.” The “My Time” singer then revealed that it was this moment that he started becoming shy around people he didn’t know.

This shyness would follow Jungkook until he became a trainee in Big Hit Entertainment. At the time, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V were strangers to him, so he kept to himself and would only shower when the other boys had gone to bed.

Eventually, Jungkook broke free from his shyness with his own determination and the help of V. “V and I have similar personalities, and it’s thanks to him that I came out of my shell. The more I became close to V the more I liked him,” he said.

This closeness was something that V and Jungkook discussed in one of the episodes of In The Soop. JK confessed that a gap was formed between him and the “Sweet Night” singer growing up. Fortunately, the pair talked it out, and they are slowly going back to their tight bond during their trainee days.
