High-end desktop CPUs like the Rocket Lake processors might arrive in March 2021, according to a new leaked Intel roadmap.

The said Intel roadmap was leaked online by Spanish tech site HD technologia and reported by Videocardz. Assuming that the leaked roadmap is accurate, it looks like consumers have to wait a little bit longer for the higher tier CPUs. interestingly, the company might not be able to release any HEDT update until at least June 2021.

These dates seemingly fit on the previous claims that was reported by several tech sites. Wccftech speculates that If the Intel Rocket Lake is scheduled for March 2021 then the HEDT update might drop sometime in the third quarter of 2021. According to the site, the chipmaker's HEDT series usually updates someetime later than the mainstream desktops.

HD Tecnologia theorized that the successor of Intel's HEDT may not be available until in the late part of 2021. Earlier rumors support this claim and revealed that based on Intel's presentation slides, there might no HEDT CPUs arriving this year. As for the arrival of Intel Rocket Lake CPUs, the release date is not at all surprising.

It is worth mentioning that the Intel Comet Lake was delayed and only became available in May 2020. Based on this pattern, Intel's timeframe from the 10th to the 11th generation CPUs is not that tight. The highly likely arrival of the Intel Rocket Lake chips might be in the Spring of 2021 and March is a good month thaat places the release date on earlier speculated windows.

Based on the leaked Intel roadmap, the X299 bar ranges for the next eight months. This could mean Intel will release the next-gen HEDT on the same platform or the next update could fall on the second half of 2021. The Intel 500 series motherboards, that will paved the way for the beginning of the Rocket Lake era, will arrive sometime in March 2021.

Meanwhile, the Intel Z590 gaming flagship, along with H570, H510 and B580 motherboards could also arrive at the same release window. These timeline supports earlier rumors about the arrival of the Rocket Lake CPUs. The Q470 and the W580 motherboards could arrive in mid-April 2021.

The leaked Intel roadmap also supports the claim that the Rocket Lake S would be founded on the 14nm process. Rumors have it that the high-end processors will top out at 8-cores, which is a step back from the 10-cores offered by Intel Comet Lake.
