Money Heist season 5 is the final installment of the Spanish heist crime drama. Filming resumes after being halted earlier this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Fans are excited to see what's coming in the final chapter. But, it seems like there'll be another major death before the series officially wraps up.

A lot of fans were shocked by the tragic death of Nairobi (Alba Flores) in the fourth installment. Now, it looks like another fan-favorite might meet his end in Money Heist season 5. Recently, Miguel Herrán, who plays Rio, shared a cryptic post on his Instagram account.

The actor shared a selfie looking dejected and wearing the gang's signature red jumpsuit. The photo comes with a Spanish caption, which translates to: "It's better than dying .. I think." Fans took to the comment section to express their concern, as Herrán seemingly teased Rio's potential death.

The character has been part of the series since the beginning and went through a lot of traumatic events. Rio's real name is Aníbal Cortés, who is a hacker and the youngest member of the group. One of his weaknesses is that he lacks experience compared to the rest of the gang.

Despite that, he became a valued member of the group. It would be tragic to lose him in Money Heist season 5, given that he started a relationship with his fellow robber Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó). But, the words "better than dying" could also mean he suffered another heartbreak.

Still, viewers shouldn't expect a happy ending for every member when the series concludes. When the fifth installment was announced, showrunner Álex Pina made it clear that the final season would have a "devastating and dramatic" ending.

Money Heist season 5 reaches its most extreme and savage levels. Tensions among the group were running high after Nairobi's devastating death. Now that The Professor (Alvaro Morte) held at gunpoint, everyone must be prepared for their brutal final battle.

Meanwhile, a lot of theories about Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) emerged, as well. Some speculated that she had some sort of connection to Berlin's (Pedro Alonso) ex-wife, Tatiana (Diana Gómez). Others suggest that she's faking her pregnancy and using it as a tactic to catch criminals off guard.

The biggest theory, however, is that Sierra could end up joining The Professor and the team -- just like Raquel (Itziar Ituño) at the end of season 2. She'll likely realize that they're more useful as an ally than an enemy, especially now that she was fired from her job due to her unlawful policing tactics.

Money Heist season 5 is expected to premiere in 2021 on Netflix.
