Fans of The Crown season 4 highly anticipate Emma Corrin's portrayal of Princess Diana. The actress admitted that there's so much pressure to bring the well-loved princess to life on the small screen, especially from her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

But the actress said that she doesn't want to think about how Prince William or Harry will react to her playing their mother in The Crown season 4. She explained in an interview that it's only going to add to the stress because it's something she cannot control.

However, it's unclear if Prince William or Harry actually watch the Netflix series about the royal family. While Prince William once said they don't follow the show, his cousin, Princess Eugenie apparently loves The Crown.

Corrin, 24, is mostly unknown to mainstream fans of the drama series. She was barely a year old when Princess Diana met her untimely death in a Paris car crash in 1997. But her role as the People's Princess is sure to land her so much recognition when The Crown season 4 starts streaming on Netflix on Nov. 15, 2020.

Speaking with Sky News in a video conference, Corrin said that she prepared for the role by reading up on a lot of biographies, video footage and newspaper reports about Princess Diana. Her resources were mostly tabloids so she couldn't grasp the heart of the character until she got the first scripts to the series.

Corrin said that a month into reading her part, she finally got a sense of Princess Diana, as a royal, a wife and mother to Prince William and Harry. But the actress also reminded fans that the show is also fictionalized for the screen. Although it' is about real-life royals, the story is still from the minds of the creative writers.

Meanwhile, Corrin said in another interview that she is more sensitive to the royals after stepping into the shoes of Prince William and Harry's mother. The young star said that she feels protective of those who are constantly hounded by the press, such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Corrin will only play Princess Diana for one season. Her replacement for The Crown season 5 is Elizabeth Debicki, who said that it is a dream role but she's both terrified and excited about playing an icon.

The Crown season 5 is expected to start filming in the middle of 2021. Casting for Prince William and Harry as 15 and 12 years old is still underway.
