Kate Middleton and Prince William shot a segment for the upcoming awards show, Pride of Britain, in secret this week. TV presenter Kate Garraway confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge filmed a "moving and beautiful" message dedicated to the honorees.

Speaking on her show Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Garraway said that she was with Kate Middleton and Prince William after they viewed the street exhibit for Hold Still. The host said that she shadowed the Cambridge couple as they were also working on something special for the red-carpet event, which will be aired on TV in the U.K. on Nov. 1.

Garraway revealed that Kate and William wore matching blue suits for this recorded appearance, which is supposedly a tribute to the NHS frontliners. The host also revealed that she asked the Duchess of Cambridge about her hair because it was "fabulously glossy in person."

Pride of Britain normally takes place at a posh hotel in London with a star-studded guest list. This year's celebration, however, will have some changes due to the pandemic and it's the first year for Kate to be a part of the program. William, on the other hand, has been attending the awards show since 2017.

Meanwhile, Prince William swung by The Royal Marsden in Sutton on Wednesday to lay down the foundation stone that will mark the start of the construction of a new cancer wing. More than 30 years ago, his mother, Princess Diana, was also at The Royal Marsden in Chelsea and did the same honor.

Photos of both events were shared on the official Royal Family page on Facebook. Prince William also took his time to talk to some of the cancer patients at the center.

The Duke of Cambridge said that he understands the challenges and difficulties of the patients who have to get their cancer treatments amid the COVID-19 lockdown. He also hailed the people workin at the facility for their unwavering commitment and dedication in these challenging times.

Prince William has been a regular visitor of The Royal Marsden facilities since he assumed the role as its president in 2007. His mother also held the post before she died in 1997.

It's unclear, however, why Prince William went on a solo trip for this particular event without Kate Middleton. The couple was together when they visited the Waterloo station to check out the photo exhibit for Hold Still.
