Prince Harry apparently disappointed the royal family following news that he won't be coming home for Christmas. The Duke of Sussex plans to spend the holidays in California in his first house abroad with Meghan Markle and son, Archie Harrison.

A source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Prince Harry's family was anticipating the Sussexes' return to the U.K. to join their annual Christmas in Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth. However, it looks like Harry and Meghan won't be flying back even as the source also said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "have not finalized" their plans for the holidays.

Another source relayed to Elle that Harry and Meghan will be staying put in Montecito with their son for Christmas. They originally had plans to return to Frogmore Cottage by December since Meghan has a trial in January 2021 against the Associated Newspapers.

However, the Duchess of Sussex petitioned to move this trial to the fall of next year and the judge agreed. The source said that the couple also wants to follow government guidelines on travel due to the pandemic so they won't risk their health.

Another insider claimed that Prince Charles is most disappointed because he has been expecting to see Archie again after over a year. According to Daily Mail Harry's father is sad because he has hasn't seen Archie develop since he's been based in the U.S.

Apparently, the Prince of Wales confided to royal insiders that he misses popping up at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, where Harry and Meghan used to live, to check up on their family. But other members of the royal family equally miss Archie, Harry and Meghan.

Prince Harry and Meghan flew to Canada with Archie in November 2019 to spend the holidays in Vancouver with some friends and Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother. The couple returned to the U.K. in January 2020 but Meghan had a short stay since Archie was still abroad with Ragland.

During this time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their decision to give up their royal roles and step back from being working royals effective March 2020. However, Harry and Meghan told Queen Elizabeth that they will spend the Christmas holidays in Sandringham. Their plans changed because of COVID-19 and travel restrictions.

In his bachelor years, Harry apparently looked forward to raising his kids together with his brother, Prince William. But it has been more than two years since the two dukes haven't ironed out their differences.
