Prince William has, apparently, admitted to a friend the reasons why he cannot support his brother, Prince Harry, anymore. The Duke of Cambridge, reportedly, had enough and decided it was time to step aside and let go of his younger brother as their relationship changed.

According to royal historian Robert Lacey in the book Battle of Brothers, William was not happy over how Harry and Meghan handled the birth of their son, Archie Harrison. The Sussex pair went against many royal traditions, which was said to be the final straw for Prince William.

Harry and Meghan wanted to welcome their first-born in private by allegedly releasing different statements to the press about the birth. Meghan chose not to have her baby at the traditional royal hospital, the Lindo Wing, and instead gave birth to Archie at the American-owned Portland Hospital in London.

The Sussexes also kept details of Archie's baptism in private, which became a controversial issue with the royal press. These choices, apparently, prompted Prince William to tell a friend that he can no longer tolerate Harry and Meghan's erratic decisions.

William and Harry were 15 and 12 when they lost their mother, Princess Diana. Royal observers said that these were vulnerable years for the royal brothers so they relied on each other for support.

But, no one around the brothers made it a personal responsibility to look after William and Harry's emotional and psychological support. Harry admitted, in an interview in 2017, that he struggled with his mental health for 20 years. He revealed he was "close to total breakdown" in dealing with his grief and the misconceptions in his life.

Along with these struggles, Harry, reportedly, started feeling resentful over how he's always treated as the spare to William's status as the heir to the throne. The Duke of Sussex would openly say, sometimes as a half-meant joke, that he didn't get enough support from William.

The feud between the brothers had unfortunate collateral damage in Prince George and Princess Charlotte. According to Daily Express, Harry cut off his connection to his nephew and nieces, whom he used to spend a lot of time with when he was still their single uncle.

A source said that William and Harry used to always make time for each other, no matter what was going on in their lives. But now, as their rift deepened, Harry also stopped engaging with the young Cambridge kids. In the same way, there had been fewer and fewer invites from William and Kate for Harry to see George and Charlotte.
