Wholesale membership-only retailer Costco is living up to its motto of having everything under one roof by offering its members 12-month private jet subscriptions.

The subscription will cost $17,499.99.

The service, provided by private jet service provider Wheels Up, will include other bonuses such as a $3,500 Costco Shop Card, $4,000 in-flight credits and a one-year membership to vacation rental service provider Inspirato.

Costco and Wheels Up are offering guaranteed aircraft availability throughout the subscription. Subscribers can book a flight to any destination at any time with a 24 hours notice.

The $17,499.99 price does not include the costs of the flights themselves but only the right to book the flights. Costco is providing a "pay as you fly" option - which it claims has the lowest rates in the industry.

According to Costco's website, Wheels Up has a fleet of more than 300 planes and 1,250 partner aircraft. It added that the company makes private flying much more accessible to consumers - particularly those that are hesitant to go on commercial flights due to the pandemic.

The retailer has added a lot of expensive offerings throughout the years, which have expanded to jewelry, prefabricated structures and even fancy caskets.

Since the pandemic began, demand for private flights has increased. Those that can afford the service can be assured of minimal contact and exposure to the virus. Wheels Up claims on its website that its service ensures passenger "safety without compromise." It said that all of its crew members undergo twice-a-day temperature checks. All of its aircraft are routinely sanitized.
