Red Velvet's "Psycho" became the group's fastest MV to reach 200 million views.

According to a report by Soompi, "Psycho" reached the milestone in just 10 months and 24 days.

It can be recalled the MV was released on December 23, 2019 as the title track of The ReVe Finale

"Psycho" is Red Velvet's second track to reach 200 million views on YouTube. To recall, their MV for "Bad Boy" achieved the same feat in April 2019 after a year and two months.

This comes as welcome news for fans who continued to support Red Velvet even after Irene became embroiled in an attitude controversy.

In October, a photoshoot editor made a lengthy post about a certain member of an idol group who subjected her to rude behavior. The editor did not name who the idol was but used the hashtags #psycho and #monster as clues for netizens.

The editor also said that she managed to record the outburst and that she still had the evidence with her. Soon after the post, Irene released a personal apology to the editor and vowed to reflect on her actions. She promised to be more considerate of the people she worked with in the future.

The apology came swiftly, but not before many other personalities came out to attest to Irene's rude behavior. To her credit, there were people who defended her from the backlash of allegations.

To prevent further damage to the group, SM Entertainment canceled events like a scheduled online fan meet for Red Velvet.

Despite the damage control, Red Velvet's performance at SBS' Ontact 2020 Gangnam Festival was edited out of televised rerun of the event. This led fans to speculate that the network cut out Red Velvet's part from the airing to avoid negative publicity, All Kpop reported.

SBS denied the allegations and explained that Red Velvet's part was cut out of the broadcast because they did not anticipate the amount of time that they had for the televised airing. The network said it had nothing to do with controversies surrounding the group's members.

Red Velvet's Joy recently took to social media to warn fans that it may take a while before the group makes a comeback. While she did not directly confirm that comeback plans will take a backseat for the meantime, she hinted that she too was getting tired of waiting.

What's more, she apologized and said that fans may have to wait a bit longer. Red Velvet's last comeback as a five-member group was last December. Wendy got severely injured during the rehearsals for SBS Gayo Daejeon last year, forcing her to sit out promotions and other activities for several months.
