In NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 episode 3, Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith) sends Sam to meet an informant. This person is planning to blow on a military secret, and the latter's life was put in danger when this man tried to run him down and kill him.
Based on the recently-released clip, Sam is just seemingly doing a normal meeting with an informant -- at first. Nell tasks him to do it and claims that Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) is certain that this man has valuable intel on national security. However, the agent soon realized that his life is at risk.
Sam was almost hit by a car while tracking down the informant, the one who actually attacked him. He will try to figure out why the situation reversed -- he is the one being tracked down now. This is a dangerous mission, and he might need the help of others.
Sam will be at the front and center in NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 episode 3. Viewers will have the chance to see more of him in more action-packed scenes. He will do whatever it takes to stay alive, to find out why they attacked him, and to complete his mission in the end.
Beyond the action, the series will deliver more of his personal life moving forward. It has been confirmed that his daughter is returning, and there's a chance to dive more into his romantic relationship with Katherine Casillas (Moon Bloodgood).
Meanwhile, NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 episode 3 will also bring an interesting story for Kensi Byle (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). The couple will be looking for a new house, but they debate whether or not they should buy their first house.
Aside from that, there could be changes in Deeks' life as he may not be able to liaison with the team. In the sneak peek, he delivered the news to Kensi, and it's clear that he's upset about it. It remains to be seen what does this means to his story moving forward.
