Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to keep a big secret from Prince George and are allegedly delaying the revelation of his destiny as the future King of England. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have yet to fully thrusts their first-born son, who is the third in line to the British throne, into his actual future role.

According to royal author Catherine Mayer, Prince William and Kate want Prince George, 7, to enjoy his childhood for "as long as possible." They are also trying to raise the future monarch in an ordinary family environment, along with his siblings, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.

Prince William and Kate's hands-on approach to parenting has grounded the royal kids, but one day, George will be posing for official portraits and meeting important people. Mayer, the author of the book, Charles: The Heart of a King, said that part of George's upbringing is to follow what his parents and grandparents are doing. So, it won't be long before the young prince will understand that he is destined for a life of public service.

Prince William prefers to protect Prince George because of his own experiences. He learned his destiny as the direct line to the throne quite early and struggled with the thought of his responsibility. According to reports, the Duke of Cambridge often told his mother, Princess Diana, when she was still alive that he has no desire to be the King of England.

In 2016, Prince William said in an interview with BBC that the time and place will come when he has to bring up the subject of Prince George's future and how his son "fits in." At that time, the young dad said that it's more important for George to grow up in a stable environment where he feels his father's love.

But Prince George is not in the dark about his royal heritage. In school at Thomas's Battersea, the kids call him PG, short for Prince George. According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, the young prince doesn't get tease and he's actually popular with the school kids because of his gentle and kind nature. George is also a promising football athlete.

Sources also said that Prince George is growing up with regal behavior. Like his father and grandparents before him, he's interested about the environment and likes marine biology. He's also a huge fan of nature documentaries and once become quite upset after watching a story about extinction.
