Prince Charles and Camilla are reportedly receiving a deluge of verbal attacks from the public on Twitter, prompting Clarence House to shut down the comments section. After the account shared an update with a screenshot of the Duchess of Cornwall's recent royal engagement, their followers noticed that only those tagged on the post could write in the comments.

According to Daily Express, Clarence House hasn't released a statement to confirm the reason for limiting the comments section. Netizens easily deduced that the Prince of Wales and his wife were being cyberbullied on the platform.

Some royal fans expressed sadness because they could not post their support and appreciation for Prince Charles and Camilla. However, angry fans said that the censorship wouldn't stop them from declaring that they love Princess Diana, Prince Charles' first wife. They also threatened that the heir to the throne would never be the King of England because of his affair with Camilla.

The cyber-attack comes following the release of The Crown season 4, which shows that Prince Charles wasn't happy with his first marriage because he was in love with Camilla. According to Mic, the series re-ignited the hate Prince Charles received more than 25 years ago after his affair was confirmed.

Buzzfeed reported that the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are also being trolled on TikTok and Instagram. Royal historian Sally Bedell Smith said that it's a shame how the show has been detrimental to Charles and Camilla despite their hard work for the last 15 years.

Bedell Smith said that Camilla, in particular, was able to transform herself as the woman once scorned because of her work in the royal family since she married Prince Charles in 2005. Some British citizens even changed their minds and saw Camilla as a good Queen Consort once Prince Charles ascends to the throne. However, there are still viewers who incorrectly ascribe to the narrative thrown by the Netflix royal drama series that Charles and Camilla have been horrible selfish people while Diana suffered in her marriage.

Meanwhile, despite what TV has done to Prince Charles and Camilla, the Prince of Wales took time to grace the Royal Television Society (RTS) Craft and Design Awards in a virtual platform on Tuesday. He remarked that those working in this industry have kept people engaged and entertained despite the pandemic.

Prince Charles also congratulated the resourceful and ingenious craftsmen in British TV productions. The Crown was even nominated for its Outstanding Achievement in Sound in the said event.

The RTS is one of the oldest TV societies in the world, whose long-time royal patron is the Prince of Wales.
