Jennifer Aniston had and has no plans of joining Scientology. Contrary to what the tabloids were reporting last year, the 51-year-old actress "never had" the intention.

Gossip Cop clarified the allegations after Globe released the report about the matter. The reputed publication said that reps for the Friends star "dismissed" the fabricated story.

Nearly a year ago, the tabloid claimed that Aniston wanted to follow Tom Cruise and John Travolta's footsteps. She, reportedly, intended to "dip her toe in the water" and see what is so "attractive" about the controversial religion.

Supposed sources told the outlet that she always planned to "get involved." However, "conflicts" in her personal life and relationships would get in the way, making her move impossible.

Globe maintained the narrative and explained that Jennifer Aniston became "hesitant" toward her plans only because of her former husband's cousin. The unnamed insiders asserted that Louis Theroux's documentary was what held her off from joining Scientology.

People previously covered Theroux's material titled, My Scientology Movie. He said that making it would be his "chance to experience" the religion "first-hand."

However, he experienced several challenges along the way and, later on, realized that the group was never going to let him join. In the end, though, he found assistance in one of the religion's former followers, Marty Rathbun.

Gossip Cop reached out to reputed sources close to Jennifer Aniston. As confirmed, the story is bogus, adding that the whole narrative is "absurd."

The Church of Scientology remains controversial and mysterious for many. Despite this, many celebrities are avid followers of the religion.

Us Weekly released a list of high-profile personalities who are outspoken when it comes to their membership and participation. Apart from Tom Cruise and John Travolta, the likes of Elizabeth Moss, Giovanni Risbi, Laura Prepon, Michael Pena, and Jason Beghe are, also, proud members of the religion.

To date, Jennifer Aniston seemingly places her focus on her career. The Daily Mail reported that she returned to work earlier in November.

On Tuesday, the actress gave her fans and followers an update about her stint on The Morning Show. She posted a series of photos and videos on set, showing her face shield, as well as the "extreme precautions" that the production has to follow.

The publication noted that production regulations in Los Angeles County require shields and masks to continue the safety protocols amid the COVID-10 crisis. Alongside the face coverings, the set, also, needs to have appropriate washing and sanitizing stations.
