Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are reportedly not paying any rent for their stay in Frogmore Cottage, the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the U.K.

According to royal commentators Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, the cousins of Prince Harry are likely staying rent-free in the house, which was Queen Elizabeth's wedding gift to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they married in 2018.

Fiorito said in the podcast Royally Obsessed that Princess Eugenie and her husband do not have to pay for any repair work for Frogmore Cottage since Prince Harry and Meghan took care of this. In September, the Sussexes paid off the public funds used to renovate Frogmore. The Sussexes, on the other hand, likely do not want to leave the house vacant. Thus, Harry made a deal with Eugenie for the Brooksbank couple to look after their place while he and Meghan live in the U.S. The royal commentator said this deal sounds like it does not include paying rent.

Bowie said that it seems logical for the Sussexes to offer their vacant house to Eugenie and Jack since they expect their first child in early 2021. Sources close to Harry and Meghan said that the pair are actually "delighted" to open up their house to Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family.

The Brooksbank couple used to live at the Ivy Cottage in the Kensington Palace grounds. However, Bowie said it makes more sense to relocate away from a crowded environment with a new baby in the pandemic. Frogmore Cottage is ideally a better place to raise a baby because there is more space.

According to ITV, Prince Harry and Meghan will "share" Frogmore Cottage whenever they are in the U.K. The place used to have five separate units before it was turned into one house, which means that there's plenty of room for two families to occupy.

Sources from the Sussex camp also said that the financial responsibility of Frogmore Cottage still lies with Harry and Meghan. However, it's not clear if Eugenie and Jack will pitch in financially if the Sussexes are generous enough since they have that multi-million Netflix deal after all.

Incidentally, while Prince Harry and Meghan received a house from the Queen, Eugenie didn't get such a fancy wedding gift when she married Jack in 2018 as well. According to royal experts, Eugenie is not a working royal so she doesn't have the same privileges as her cousin.
