Fans are now wondering what route Rick and Morty Season 5 will take. Aside from a Space Beth storyline, many theories and assumptions are surrounding the new season. Where else the epic animated series will take the viewers?

In addition to the coming of Rick and Morty Season 5, BlockToro noted there would be Rick and Morty sequel, titled Samurai and Shogun. There are reports this new installment will come in the form of a movie and come out with the new season's release.

Kaichi Sato, the animated film's screenwriter and director, confirmed the coming of the movie sequel, adding he already a "number of good ideas" for it. With his desire to execute his plans, he is now looking forward to making it happen.

In addition, it has been said time and over again that the new season will feature the return of Space Beth. She will be a significant part of the next installment's storyline, solving the mystery behind the real and cloned Beth.

There are also rumors that Evil Morty will return in Rick and Morty Season 5, although that remains to be seen. If this happens, fans will indeed celebrate.

Furthermore, Screenrant noted the fifth installment would experience a reboot, and Rick himself would do it. A TV Tropes user claimed the genius scientist would switch to another reality where he had a good relationship with the Smith family.

From here, Rick would try to re-establish himself. This might be an excellent sight to see in the new season's premiere, as it could bridge the gap between the seasons and explain how the family managed to forgive him.

Anyhow, if there is one thing that is confirmed about Rick and Morty Season 5, it will feature "less self-contained affairs of a continuing narrative." In fact, it can be like Season 3, per Digital Spy.

Talking at the Rick and Morty Global Celebration Panel at Adult Swim's virtual 2020 Festival, the series' writer and producer Scott Marder revealed there would be an "epic canon" coming in the new season. He even teased that this would knock fans over, promising all of the things there were doing would be awesome.

Either Adult Swim or the series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are yet to announce Rick and Morty Season 5's official release date. However, there are assumptions it may be out in January or February 2021.
