9-1-1 season 4 is scheduled to premiere next year on Fox. The procedural drama will continue to follow the characters doing daring rescues while incorporating personal stories at the same time. Viewers will witness more of these elements in the upcoming installment.

The latest trailer of 9-1-1 season 4 shows what's coming next for the police officers, the firefighters, operators, and paramedics. The premiere is going to feature a dam breaking and a mudslide, causing panic to everyone. The series usually brings huge disaster during its early run each season.

This time, a dam is breaking and it could cause a mudslide -- leading to big damage to the Hollywood sign. As shown in the promo, everyone is trying to figure out how to stop this disaster from happening. Some lives might be in danger because of this.

Beyond this, more personal moments are coming ahead. For instance, the clip sees Buck (Oliver Stark) and Maddie's (Jennifer Liver Hewitt) parents showing up for the first time in the series. This is a chance to learn more about the siblings' past, as well as why their parents weren't frequently mentioned.

Dee Wallace and Gregory Harrison will guest star in the series, playing Margaret and Phillip Buckley, respectively. Buck and Maddie's parents showed up as they're worried about them -- particularly when it comes to their jobs.

While dealing with the arrival of her mother and father, Maddie is nervous and worried about her pregnancy and starting a family with the father of her child, Chimney (Kenneth Choi). This is going to be a huge part of her storyline through most of 9-1-1 season 4.

Maddie found on she is pregnant in the season 3 finale. In the recently-released promo, she can be seen telling Chimney how scared she is because of her current situation. As for her younger brother Buck, he is going to meet a new woman in his life and find a "childhood secret."

Meanwhile, the clip also sees Bobby (Peter Krause) concerned over Athena's (Angela Bassett) actions. He is worried about her going back to work and heading to the field immediately after her near-death experience in the fourth installment.

9-1-1 season 4 will take on the pandemic storyline, as well. The characters will be wearing masks while working out in the field and rescuing people. While the entire installment won't focus on this, it would still impact the characters' lives in some ways.

9-1-1 season 4 starts dropping its new episodes starting on Monday, January 18, 2021, on Fox.
