LOONA's fans believe that the concept change that SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man introduced for the group was very effective in increasing their popularity.

According to a report by All Kpop, fans recently took a vote on whether they liked LOONA's concept change from their debut days where they were often styled as schoolgirls. Their present concept featured the members in more mature styles.

It can be recalled that Lee Soo Man started to take charge of LOONA's direction this year and decided to change up the concept for the group's promotions.Lee Soo Man opted to do away with a cute oneiric concept, to a darker, edgier vibe. The move was a hit among fans in Korea and abroad as LOONA gained more attention for their new style.For their album 12:00, LOONA was able to break through the Billboard 200 and landed in the 112th rank.

Fans were not very surprised over the results of Lee Soo Man's decisions because he has been managing idols for decades. Meanwhile, LOONA also made it to the list of 2020 Top K-Idol Group on Tumbler, Soompi reported.

Through an analysis of the most talked-about entertainers and entertainment topics this year from the platform's Fandometrics, LOONA landed in the 13th spot out of the 50 idol groups that were featured on the list. LOONA's JinSoul also clinched the last spot in the list of 100 top Kpop idols on a separate Tumblr list.

SM Entertainment had a good year in terms of album sales in 2020, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to a report by All Kpop , the label landed in the second spot among the agencies that sold the most albums this year.

Topping the list was Big Hit Entertainment after the company sold 10,054,929 albums, owing mostly to BTS albums and digital releases. SM Entertainment was not far behind with 8,162,875 albums sold from the activities of their artists. This year, SM had comebacks for EXO's Suho, Baekhyun, and subunit EXO-SC, Super M, Taeyeon, and NCT which contributed to their stellar album sales.

JYP Entertainment clinched the third spot with 4,066,460. Among their top performers for the year were TWICE and GOT7.Pledis Entertainment also capped off a productive 2020 with 2,915,070 albums sold. YG Entertainment took fifth place with 2,751,917 total album sales, a third of which came from BLACKPINK. TREASURE and AKMU contributed to the number as well.
