Are they the first celebrity couple to be revealed for 2021? Reports are circulating that VIXX Ravi and Girls Generation Taeyeon are dating, but their agencies are quick to quell fans' hopes.
According to a report by All Kpop, the alleged couple was spotted by news outlet Joynews21 on Christmas day while they were out on a date. Based on the report, Ravi picked up Taeyeon from her apartment in Seongsudong before proceeding to his place at Seonleung.
The report was accompanied by photos of a couple emerging from the elevators at a parking lot. While the pair were wearing masks, they fit the same profile as the two Kpop idols.
Joynews21 reported that Ravi and Taeyeon have already been dating for a year after meeting through a common friend. They have also worked together on several occasions. Last December 21, Taeyeon appeared on Ravi's show Question Mark. They have also appeared on Doremi Mart last December 28.
A source from Ravi's agency, GROOVL1N initially confirmed the dating rumors and appealed to the public not to intrude on the couple's relationship so that they may enjoy a peaceful dating life. However, some confusion emerged when the label backtracked on their statement and denied the dating news.
In their follow up statement, GROOVL1N said that Ravi and Taeyeon are just close friends. According to the label, the pair became close to each other while they were working on their music.
SM Entertainment, Taeyeon's agency, issued a similar statement. They maintained that the artists are not dating.
Meanwhile, netizens are eagerly awaiting the big reveal that is traditionally released by entertainment agency Dispatch on celebrities who are dating.
The excitement has escalated to such an extent that netizens are already posting their speculations online. Based on one trending post, there are seven possible couples that the agency will reveal.
Among the couples who are expected to be outed include two members of BTS, two members of TWICE, two GOT7 members, two members of EXO, and a member of BLACKPINK.
It can be recalled that this year, TWICE Chaeyoung was embroiled in dating rumors with a tattoo artist after photos of what appeared to be the TWICE member and a man was circulated online. Some artwork of the artist also resembled Chaeyoung, reports indicated.
In previous years, Dispatch was responsible for revealing celebrity couples like Rain and Kim Tae Hee, Lee Sunggi and YoonA, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young, Taeyeon and Baekhyun, Kai and Krystal, Kbizboom reported.
