Boruto Chapter 54 will play a significant part in the whole story of the manga. There are reports it will take the series in a different direction, featuring a major time skip and a dark theme, as Boruto may finally unlock the Jougan in his right eye.

Boruto may use this Jougan against Momoshiki in Boruto Chapter 54. As Masashi Kishimoto now takes the manga's writing works, it may mean a lot of things for the series itself.

According to BlockToro, Kishimoto may continue the series's future timeline, which was shown in the manga's first chapter. The new chapter may feature several "game-changing events" and the possible thing that may happen in Boruto's activation of his Jougan.

For fans who have no idea what Jougan is, it is a unique dojutsu that only the Otsutsuki Clan knows. Boruto accidentally activated this thing in his right eye during his training at the academy, and it gave him a hard time to control it.

This ability is Boruto's only chance to go against Momoshiki in Boruto Chapter 54. It is also why a lot of fans believe he will master his Jougan soon so that he can take the upper hand in this battle.

Boruto, Boroshiki, and Momoshiki are three different entities that live in his body. There will surely be a mental battle between Boruto and Momoshiki, as they fight who will control the initial's body. This will leave his left eye with Byakugan, while the right has the Jougan.

In Boruto Chapter 53, Kawaki knew that Ishiki wanted to plant a new Karma on him, while the latter realized the Shinobi put him in trouble and left him with only five minutes to live and do his plans. Kawaki believed the best way to defeat Isshiki was to keep him running until his time ran out, OtakuKart News reported.

Anyhow, Isshiki was determined to use Kawaki's body and regain Karma. However, when Naruto noticed Kawaki was in danger, he told him to run and save his life.

This made Naruto open for an attack, which Isshiki did. He pinned Naruto on the ground, while Kawaki escaped.

Later, Isshiki managed to reach Kawaki, telling him he couldn't escape and choke him. Sasuke then saved Kawaki by using his Jutsu and switched places with him.

Isshiki was then surprised to see Sasuke was the one he was choking. Sasuke then asked Kawaki to get something and threw it in his feet, which the latter did. Kawaki kept his distance from Isshiki until his life ran out.
