Jun Maeda's The Day I Became a God received positive reviews and commendations after its successful first season run. However, knowing how the Japanese writer works, will there be The Day I Became a God Season 2?

Fans are looking forward to seeing Hina Sato, Yota Narukami, and Kyoko Izanami back on the small screen in The Day I Became a God Season 2. But with the way the first season ended, would Hina's story still had the chance to continue?

So far, according to Monsters & Critics, P.A. Works or any company related to the anime's productions has yet to announce the second season's coming. There is also no news about its production, a sequel, or a renewal.

Maeda has other great anime productions in his resume, like Angel Beats! and Charlotte. However, just like The Day I Became a God, these anime series have yet to receive a second season.

Angel Beats! aired and ended in 2010, although it featured another episode in 2015. On the other hand, Charlotte was out and finished in 2015, though it also dropped a single episode in 2016.

So, what these things have in common? Aside from being helmed but P.A. works and written by Maeda himself, they are all self-contained stories that left no room for a second season. Does this mean there will also no be The Day I Became a God Season 2?

It looks like Maeda will stick with this trend. Hina's story ended in a way that it is quite impossible to continue.

In the Season 1 finale, Hina seemed hopeless about her future, but Yota didn't give up easily, CBR noted. With the help of a computer whiz, Hiroto Suzuki, Yota did everything to bring Hina back to the only family she had ever known.

When he managed to bring Yota back, his parents, sister, and even friends were happy. Hina became the god she was supposed to be having a normal life with a family. Although the world she knew ended, she started anew with a fresh beginning.

This end seemed not to give her story a chance to continue in The Day I Became a God Season 2, but it did feature a great visual, per Honey's Anime. It perfectly knew how to use excellent lighting, giving more life to its background of "lush, last summer setting."

Of course, there were also extraordinary character development and animation that made the series more superb. Sadly, fans might don't get the chance to see these things once more.
