A day doesn't go by at the Cambridge household without Prince William talking to his children -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis -- about the sacrifices of the healthcare workers in this pandemic.

The Duke of Cambridge revealed, in a video conference with the frontliners at the Homerton University, that he and his wife, Kate Middleton, remind their children to thank the NHS frontliners on daily basis. William said that he wants George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2, to understand all of the efforts of the medical staff working hard to save COVID-19 patients.

It comes as Homerton University has been overwhelmed with hospitalizations this week as the U.K. proceeded with its third nationwide lockdown. In early December, experts discovered a variant of COVID-19 in the country, which is said to spread faster than the first few variants.

The frontliners spoke to William about how the pandemic is affecting them psychologically after nearly one year of dealing with the virus. The hospital workers said that they've set up a "Wobble Room" where they can relax, recover and look after their wellbeing. William and Kate are the patrons of the NHS Charities Together, which funded the construction of this much-needed space within the hospital.

Since the pandemic struck, William and Kate's work has largely been focused on the welfare of the frontliners. In the middle of March, just before the first lockdown, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the emergency services of the NHS. The couple also participated in the regular Clap of Carers tribute that spanned for 10 weeks.

In December, William and Kate decided to share some Christmas joy with the frontliners in person by embarking on a Royal Tour. Despite getting some criticisms for this risky three-day trip, many healthcare workers said that it was a boost to their morale to have the future King and Queen of the United Kingdom personally thank them for keeping the country together in this pandemic.

Meanwhile, royal observers said that William and Kate will be including George, Charlotte and Louis in more of their royal engagements for 2021 in preparation for their future life as working royals. The kids got their first taste of a red carpet royal engagement when they watched a show with the families of the frontliners at the London Palladium before the holidays.

Insiders said that George is already aware of his destiny as the future King after his father. William explained to his son that he has a very important role to fulfill and that the boy is learning to enjoy his history lessons.

Charlotte and Louis, as the fourth and fifth in line to the throne, are also being nurtured and trained for their future roles as public servants. Despite this, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are trying to strike a balance so that the kids could still enjoy their childhood and have a semblance of normal life.
