The company announced today that it is voluntarily recalling the product due to fire and shock safety concerns. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that the voluntary recall affects Belkin's Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition sold in Apple retail stores, as well as Apple and Belkin's online shops, between July 2020 and October 2020. Although there have been no reports of any incident or injury brought about by the hazard, the company thought it best to recall the product after discovering a flaw that could lead to unwarranted situations.

In a statement regarding the voluntary recall, Belkin said it discovered an issue with the product's "power supply unit," which could cause it to overheat. When this happens, the charging device may catch fire or give users an electric shock.
Belkin is advising users who bought its Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition between July 2020 and October 2020 to immediately stop using the device and unplug it from a power source.
