It's no secret that Christian Bale's version of Batman is one of the beloved incarnations of the DC superhero. However, the Academy Award winner only played Bruce Wayne in three movies that were all directed by Christopher Nolan. But what are the chances that Bale could be convinced to reprise his role in a new project? A new report suggests that Warner Bros. is determined to bring back Bale's version of the Dark Knight in the upcoming The Flash film.

It has already been confirmed that The Flash movie will adapt the Flashpoint storyline from the comic books. This means that the film will feature Barry Allen returning to the past to save his mother from certain death and changing the course of history. With that in mind, it would make sense that there would be different Batmans that will appear from other universe. But can Warner Bros. convince Christian Bale to return as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming DC Extended Universe flick?

The scoop comes from industry insider Daniel Richtman, who revealed in his Patreon account that Warner Bros. and DC are working out a way to bring Christian Bale back into the DC Extended Universe. The plan is to reintroduce the Oscar winner in The Flash where he could appear alongside the two other Batmans played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck.

Interestingly, it was noted that the studios are willing to pay any amount to ensure Christian Bale's involvement in The Flash. However, it was not revealed whether the Ford vs Ferrari star has already been offered the role in the upcoming DC Extended Universe flick.

It's interesting to note that Warner Bros. is interested in adding yet another Batman into the already stellar lineup of The Flash. After all, it was already confirmed that both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will reprise their roles as Bruce Wayne from their respective films. It is unclear what the studio truly plans for the film yet so stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Christian Bale first played Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins which was released in 2005 and was followed by The Dark Knight in 2008, which featured the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Bale's final appearance as Batman was in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. He is currently working on the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel Thor: Love and Thunder where he will play the main villain Gorr the God Butcher.
