Bridgerton, the newly-released Netflix drama series about British aristocrats in the Regency period, has one big fan in someone who has lived the aristocratic life in Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

The ex-wife of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, revealed that she watched the first season of Bridgerton two times since it was made available on Netflix on Christmas Day. In an interview with Us Weekly, Sarah said that she simply "adored" the drama series and its lead character, Daphne Bridgerton.

Sarah said that Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor, uses "her strong voice" on the show despite the innocence of her character. The former royal also praised the period drama for its "fabulous" costumes and set design. She is already anticipating the second season.

The Duchess of York heard talks that Bridgerton season 2 will film at Sunninghill Park, where she grew up. According to Bracknell News, the local Council received an application to turn a countryside site into a film set but it didn't indicate if it's for the Netflix drama.

Netflix, however, has yet to renew the series. Deadline reported that the streaming platform is close to announcing the renewal, but the cast does not know when production will start due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the United Kingdom.

The first season of Bridgerton wrapped production in February 2019 before the pandemic caused panic all over the world. Dynevor recalled that the last few days on the set had been "crazy" amid fears of the still-unknown virus.

The actress said that she has no idea how production will proceed since Bridgerton is a show with many extras and intimate scenes. Sources told Deadline, however, that work on the second season might start as early as March 2021.

Meanwhile, Sarah's adoration for the period drama comes as she's also due to release her own period work in August. The Duchess of York will release a historical romance novel based on the life of Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott, her great-great-aunt.

The book, Her Heart for A Compass, will follow Margaret's journey from Ireland to America. It's her first try at writing for this genre, but Sarah has been a best-selling children's book author for many years.

Incidentally, Sarah also loves Netflix's The Crown, the drama based on the lives of the actual British royal family. She said that the show had been shot beautifully, and she likes that it included a few facets about her wedding to Prince Andrew.
