J-Hope is the dance leader of BTS. Even though the group has professional choreographers who help them with their performances, the “Ego” rapper is in charge of making sure they’ll deliver well.

While J-Hope earned the title “Sunshine” from ARMYs because of his bright and bubbly personality, he is full-on serious when it comes to perfecting BTS’s performances. Since he is the dance leader, the pressure is on his shoulders if they do or didn’t do what was expected of them.

So when RM’s shoulder was hurting during their dance practice in the past, J-Hope was not too happy about his performance. The 26-year-old rapper, songwriter, dancer, and record producer was expecting him to do more effort despite his situation.

During the 2020 BTS FESTA, J-Hope revealed that he felt bad for not understanding RM’s pain. He was so caught up in trying to make one of their choreographies synchronized that he failed to be more forgiving towards him.

“Back then, when we did a choreo, I thought it would look better if we synchronize the choreo more,” J-Hope said. “But Namjoon had some shoulder issues, so he kept saying his shoulder hurt.”

At the time, J-Hope couldn’t understand RM’s pain. He was wondering why the BTS leader would keep complaining about his shoulder. JH said that he had been dancing longer than RM, so he should be the one feeling the pain and not him.

Looking back, J-Hope feels bad for not being as understanding as he should have been. “I felt sorry to him about not understanding his pain,” he said.

RM chimed in and said that he understood J-Hope’s feelings at the time because he was also frustrated at himself due to his shoulder issues. While it’s clear that the “Persona” rapper didn’t have any hard feelings towards JH, the latter still felt the need to apologize to him.

“I feel sorry to you because of it. It was like that back then. I needed to be more understanding,” J-Hope told RM. The BTS leader quickly accepted JH’s apology and even said that he “felt sorry too.”

One of the main reasons why RM understands J-Hope’s feelings is because he is the leader of the biggest boy group on the planet. He had been dealing with the pressure in front of the camera during BTS's interviews, appearances, and more, while JH deals with the pressure behind the scenes.
