IU has become one of today's most successful K-Pop solo artists. As she continues to dominate several music charts, reports persist in placing her in the middle of the spotlight.

On Wednesday, various publications unearthed a confession she made last year. This comes amid the bullying allegations toward many South Korean celebrities reach new light in recent weeks.

AllKpop recalled the moment when the "Celebrity" singer shared her own dark experiences with bullies in her childhood. In the making of her "Eight" music video with BTS' Suga, she revealed how awful her bullies were during her elementary years.

One of the staff from the production asked her whether she experienced being on the rooftop when she was younger. This came after they did most of the shooting and filming of the music video on a rooftop.

IU was "shy" at first but, she revealed her worst experiences with rooftops. She said that her bullies "dragged" her to a rooftop sometimes when she was young.

She continued that there were, also, some instances when "older boys and girls wearing school uniforms" would come to her and her friends. While riding their bicycles, some of the older students would, reportedly, take their bikes and "threaten" them.

The artists, then, stated that many of the bullies would push the bike at her and ask her for money. But, considering that she was still in elementary school, she did not have anything to give to them.

In the end, IU put on a "stern" expression, alongside a frown, while filming the behind-the-scenes look of "Eight." She, also, drew an "X" mark with her arms, signaling that she discourages bullies.

Koreaboo covered the same report on Wednesday. As noted, many netizens shared their support toward the K-Pop star in the comment section of the video.

Aside from giving their support and comfort, many YouTube users applauded IU for her strength and bravery. Several of them even complimented the singer for her overall skills and talents.

The talks about bullies recently emerged following the new allegations about some South Korean celebrities being a bully during their schooling years. While the claims remain to be rumors, several netizens discussed the matter on various forum sites and platforms.

In Quora, netizens tackled the K-Pop stars who continue to receive accusations of being a bully these days. The list includes many prominent personalities, including Jennie from BLACKPINK, Hyolyn, Yoon Seobin from Produce 101, Kangho, and Jimin from AOA.
