Vincenzo is premiering this weekend on tvN. The upcoming Korean drama stars Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin. The story follows the titular character, who's of Korean descent but was adopted by an Italian family when he was eight. Years later, he returned to his native country when his organization faced certain conflicts.
In Vincenzo, Song Joong Ki plays the lead role of Vincenzo Cassano. He is an Italian lawyer working for the Mafia as a consigliere. When his organization was caught in the middle of a war between Mafia groups, he decided to go back to Korea.
After returning to his native country, he met a sharp-tongued lawyer named Hong Cha Young, played by Jeon Yeo Bin. She is the type of attorney who's willing to do whatever it takes to win a case. They'll work together to take down villains who can't be punished by the law.
Vincenzo and Hong Cha Young take on a different approach in dealing with these people, as they're using villainous methods to achieve justice. Along the way, Song Joong Ki's character will fall in love with Jeon Yeo Bin's character.
Ahead of the official premiere of the series, the two lead stars share their experience working together on set. The actor praised his co-star, noting that she's an actress whose "acting is not only fun to watch, but a kind of acting that hasn't been seen before."
Song Joong Ki also said that his co-star is a partner that gives him a lot of motivation. He added that he had fun watching Jeon Yeo Bin's acting in person while they're working together on set. He assures viewers that they can "safely look forward to her charms."
Jeon Yeo Bin, on the other hand, said that the actor is really "well-suited to the role of Vincenzo." She added that her character pushes other people's buttons, and the actor helped her to express Hong Cha Young in even more ways.
In terms of their chemistry in the drama, Jeon Yeo Bin noted that the qualities that lack on her character can be found on Vincenzo, while the qualities he lacks can be found in Hong Cha Young. The two will influence one another and their "chemistry will shine through even more."
Meanwhile, tvN also released a new poster featuring Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin in character. The image comes with a tagline: "Not a negotiation, but a warning. Evil punished through evil."
Vincenzo is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, Feb. 20, on tvN.
