Prince William and Kate Middleton are said to be uncomfortable with the attention brought on by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey. The program is due to air on the weekend but it's already generating a lot of controversies. The Cambridges apparently do not want to be involved.

Sources told Page Six that William and Kate have been trying to be discreet as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are exchanging accusations with Buckingham Palace. William, however, is sad about what is going on but he will not say anything, which the source said was the smartest decision.

The insider added that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been surrounding themselves with "goodness" with Kate's extended family as the source of their grounded and happy life. It is believed that William hasn't spoken to Harry in a while and he has no inkling about what his brother and sister-in-law told Winfrey in their interview.

Royal experts believe that William and Harry will have a harder time mending their rift as this latest controversy could push the brothers further apart. Angela Levin said that William is "known to hold grudges" and he's likely shocked by Harry's disrespect for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip for doing the tell-all chat with Winfrey.

Levin also said that Harry, even as a child, was the type of person who would be the first to make peace when he had disagreements with his older brother. This time, however, Levin thinks there's hardly a chance for the brothers to heal, especially after reports that William and the royal family were "blindsided" by this upcoming interview.

According to Us Weekly, William fears that the interview will paint the royal family "in an unfair way." Allegedly, Queen Elizabeth also feels the same way but Harry said in another interview with James Corden that he is regularly in touch with his grandparents via Zoom calls.

Sources said that Buckingham Palace is bracing for the outcome of the interview knowing that "they will not be cast in the best light." Promos for Winfrey's show has been running across platforms with one clip showing Meghan saying that The Firm, referring to the royal family, was complicit in perpetuating lies about their lives.

Days prior to the interview, unmade sources have also come out to The Times to say that Meghan bullied them while she was a working royal. Representatives of the Duchess of Sussex said that this was a calculated move to discredit her before her interview with Winfrey comes out.

Meanwhile, William and Kate continue to focus on their work and engaging the frontliners as the U.K. proceeds with its vaccine rollout.
