The cast of Love Alarm season 2 recently talked about what's coming in the story. The South Korean drama series is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, which sees an alternate reality where people find love using an application. It alerts them when someone within a 10-meter radius likes them.
Love Alarm season 2 is set four years after the first season. It will continue to follow the story of Kim Jo Jo (Kim So Hyun), Lee Hye Young (Jung Ga Ram), and Hwang Sun Oh (Song Kang). The application upgraded new features, wherein it provides a list of the people you like and the people who will like you.
Ahead of its official premiere, a recently-released video featured the three talking about what to expect with their characters in the second installment. Kim So Hyun said that their characters "have been developed further" to show viewers that they changed over the past years.
Jung Ga Ram, on the other hand, said that Lee Hye Young's romance will start to blossom as he remains loyal to Kim Jo Jo. The latter's relationship with him and Hwang Sun Oh will confuse her and her feelings toward them play a huge part in the story.
The clip also featured some scenes from Love Alarm season 2, including Lee Hye Young and Hwang Sun coming into conflict. Jung Ga Ram explained that while the two might be friends, they're still "wary of each other and grow a little distant."
Song Kang added that they need to show that their character were friends even if they're caught in a love triangle. He, then, revealed that he and Jung Ga Ram talked about these things, which makes it easier for them to portray their roles.
In addition, Jung Ga Ram said that Kim Jo Jo was someone Lee Hye Young wanted to protect move in Love Alarm season 2. Song Kang said that Hwang Sun Oh will transform and become completely different from what viewers saw from him in the first season.
Meanwhile, the trailer previously hinted at a complicated love life of Kim So Hyun's character. The clip hinted at a messy love triangle between Kim Jo Jo, Lee Hye Young, and Hwang Sun Oh. The new feature of the application, in particular, will be a huge part of their story.
Throughout the first season, Kim Jo Jo has been trying to sort her feelings out. She is uncertain about whom she really likes until now. In the next chapter, she is happy with Lee Hye Young at first, but Hwang Sun Oh's return will confuse her again.
Love Alarm season 2 is dropping on Friday, March 12, on Netflix.
