A drunk passenger on an Alaska Airline flight is facing jail time and a $250,000 fine for aggressive and disturbing behavior toward the crew.

The passenger on the flight from Seattle to Denver claimed not to remember the incident.

According to authorities, the passenger's actions were a violation of federal law. Landon Grier reportedly became violent after he was asked to wear a mask. The 24-year-old resident of Canon City urinated in the cabin.

Grier admitted to officers that he had drunk several beers and other alcohol before boarding.

He allegedly struck a flight attendant who had asked him to put on a mask which had fallen off while he was sleeping. FBI special agent Martin Daniell III said that Grier struck an attendant in the arm "two or three times."

Flight attendants approached Grier later in the flight after he had urinated on his seat. Two attendants responded to calls by passengers.

Grier has been charged with interfering with flight crew - a federal charge that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

"The safety of our guests and our crew is our top priority. We will not tolerate any disturbance onboard our aircraft or at any of the airports we serve. We appreciate the efforts of our dedicated teams who are committed each day to keep travel safe and respectful," Alaska Airlines said in a statement.

Grier is on $10,000 bail.
