Supergirl season 6 is going to be the final installment of The CW superhero drama. Since this will be the last one for the series, fans can expect more stories coming along the way. Some iconic characters will also show up, including the young version of Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant.

In a recent report from Entertainment Weekly, it was confirmed that Supergirl season 6 is going to explore Cat Grant's past. The younger version of the character will be played by Eliza Helm, and she will be featured in episode 5, "Prom Night" and episode 6, "Prom Again."

The two episodes will focus on her early days in journalism and how she founded CatCo. Flockhart appeared as Cat in the series from season 1 until season 3. The character was introduced as the superficial founder of CatCo Worldwide Media.

Before she founded the company, she worked as a gossip columnist at the Daily Planet. Later on, Cat found out that Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman were cousins. This revelation put Kara Denver's life in danger as the latter's enemies targeted her.

In season 2, Cat took a leave of absence from CatCo. She departed in season 3 after becoming the White House Press Secretary for President Olivia Marsdin (Lynda Carter). Now, it's interesting to see how her backstory is tied to a larger narrative in Supergirl season 6.

According to the official character description, the young Cat will be introduced during the early days of her career and when she was known as "CJ Grant". At the time, she is eager to make a name of her own and tried to chase a story to Kara's hometown of Midvale.

Meanwhile, only a few details were known about the upcoming Supergirl season 6. But, the early parts will feature Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) as the major adversary. His storyline was supposed to wrap up in the fifth season, but that didn't happen as production was shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The final installment kicks off with Brainiac (Jesse Rath) on the verge of dying after trying to stop Lex. Kara will do everything to save him and engages in a battle with Gamenmae (Cara Buono). She's eager to defeat Lex, who brainwashed half the world using the Obsidian platform.

Lena (Katie McGrath) enlists the entire team as she knows how dangerous her brother could be. Kelly (Azie Tesfai), Dreamer (Nicole Maines), J'onn (David Harewood), and Alex (Chyler Leigh) will help Kara. However, she realized that sacrificing herself is the only way to defeat Lex.

Supergirl season 6 is premiering on Tuesday, March 20, on The CW.
